Oleksii Chupa
A writer and a poet. Author of poetry collections “Ukrainian-Russian Dictionary” (2010), “69” (2011), “Coma” (2014), and books of prose “Ten Words About the Homeland” (2014), “Hobos of Donbass” (2014), “Fairy Tales of My Bomb-Shelter”(2014), “Aquarium” (2015), “Cherry-Tree and Me”. A novel “Ten Words about the Homeland” was published in Poland (2017). A novel “Fairy-Tales of My Bomb-Shelter” was published in Austria (2019).
“Ten Words about the Homeland”, “Hobos of Donbass”, and “Aquarium” were included into the long lists of the “BBC Book of the Year” 2014 and 2015. “Ten Words About the Homeland” was nominated for the Angelus Central European Literature Award in 2017.
A scholarship holder of the Gaude Polonia 2015 programme where he translated the prose works of Mark Glask. A finalist of the Konrad Prize in 2015.
Participated in the literary residency in Buchach in 2019.
