The Center was established to study and promote the literary heritage of Buchach, and to commemorate a good memory of Shmuel Yosef Agnon, a Buchach born 1966 Nobel Prize Laureate in Literature. The Literary Center’s key objective is to mark Buchach on the literary map of Ukraine and the world through the names of authors who used to write about the town and were directly related to its history.
